- As soon as you plug in your headphones, you're bombarded with a bunch of permissions. Give everyone and accept the option that asks to activate Oculus Link.
- The Add a device menu will open in the Oculus software on your PC. Click “Link (cable)” and then click “Next”.
- Since our headset is already connected, just click Next.
- In the next step, you can check the cable connection. If you are connected using an Oculus Link cable or other good cable, you can skip this step and click Next. If not, click Test Connection.
- And that's it! Just click the "Close" button to continue.

Alternative to AirLink: Virtual Desktop
While Facebook Air Link is a good solution for playing SteamVR wirelessly, that doesn't mean there aren't alternatives. A popular third-party application called Virtual Desktop works exactly like Air Link. Virtual Desktop allows users to basically stream their PC to Quest 2 to control it from there. Users can also launch their SteamVR or other VR games using Virtual Desktop.
However, please note that Virtual Desktop is paid software and users must download a PC client and an Oculus Quest 2 client.
